I got the birthday update, but it’s been a couple of days now and I have not received even one slice of cake from the fairy. Now I’m despairing of receiving 20 pieces before the end of the month. Is there anything special I need to do to get the cake? I’ve watched all of the fairy’s videos every day, but can’t figure out what else to do.

I eventually did get some pieces of birthday cake, but it was very slow. I just realized last night that the cake was gone from the office, so I guess the 11 pieces of cake I earned are gone too? Is there no way to get this item? I feel a little cheated, because I watched every single video from the angel during the time of the promotion and didn’t get enough slices to earn the entire cake. 🙁

I’m playing the Beta version and was able to get the cake. If the uncollected cake is gone from your office, I’m guessing it’s game over for that particular item. But I’m sure there’ll be more!!

Thanks, Lynn. I know in the grand scheme of things it’s not a big deal, but I’m definitely disappointed. i feel like I didn’t have a fair chance to earn it, and now it’s gone forever.
On the good news side, I finally maxed out on con expansions again. Time to save my Comix for the next update!

I’m trying to think of a way to commiserate without saying a naughty word, so I’ll just say it’s a darn shame. Must have been some kind of glitch in the program, so I hope your comments will encourage a fix for the next special collectible.

So The update from Monday said that the birthday cake was back and the fairy would be handing out cake again… but I don’t have the cake in my office (not even the silhouette) and after 2 days (6 videos) I haven’t received any pieces of cake. Is the cake actually back in the game?

How frustrating!! Have you also gone to the See Con Man The Game page, and submitted your issue via the form at the bottom? The page says PJ definitely reads all of the submissions there. I don’t know how much time he has to come to the forum.

That’s the thing though. I don’t know if my game is not working or if this is just the way it’s supposed to be and I have bad luck. I was hoping someone else who didn’t complete the cake would chime in…

I guess I’m not the only confused cake person (on the new batch of supposed cake anyway, my update just showed up a couple days ago).

Yeah, I think the cake hasn’t really returned. As they say in Portal, ‘The cake is a lie…’.

In the “News” section of the Con Man website, Alan gives an update dated May 1, 2017 addressing the nightmare cake issue, among other things. 🙂
He promises more cake next year. 🙂

Thanks, Kcat! Somehow, I missed that posting. It’s a bit of a vague reference, but I gather I’m not the only person who lost out on cake. 🙁

You’re very welcome Transmute Jun! It sounds like it’s been a bit chaotic for the Powers That Be in our game, but they are doing their level best to course correct and get everything running smoothly.
I’m sure sorry you experienced cake deprivation. You were not the only one it seems. It does sound like Alan and company are working hard to make sure this stuff stops happening.
